Those businesses that you regularly do business with. It is very unfair to go to a business that you have never set foot in and ask them to donate something to a couple they have never heard of. I have heard that complaint so many times-there are some businesses that get dozens of donation requests in a year, and they are especially annoyed when requests come from someone who never comes Into their store or business to spend money. They simply cannot give something every time someone asks.
Some people have family/friends who go and buy items and then donate them for the raffle/silent auction.
