So, I am anticipating getting engaged in maybe the next few months. About 4 years ago my grandmother passed away and left me her engagement ring. I kind of forgot about it and just recently came across it again. I really like it, more vintage. Yellow gold, 15 little diamonds in the shape of a star kind of. 1 in the middle, 6 surrounding it, 1 at the top and bottom, and clusters of 3 on either side. Definitly not what girls wear today, but that kind of attracts me to it.  
 
Thing is... my parent's divorced when I was 8. The grandma that passed this ot me is on my dad's side, who's image my mom really distorted for me at a young age. He's not a bad guy. I mean he's lazy, he's bankrupt, but he would never hurt anyone, he has good intentions. I always liked my grandma, she was always good to us, although sometimes my mom talked bad about her. Now i've grown up and I see how my parent's opinions of each other are merely opinions, and I don't know what's truth at all.  
 
So, question. Do I wear this ring or what? I LOVE it... but it's the inherent spirit of the ring that I care about the most. Is my dad a part of that spirit? Grandma had a great marriage, my dad did not. I dunno...
