I was just wondering if anyone knew of any rustic type wedding venues in Brandon or close surrounding area.  
 
I'm having a very rustic themed wedding and want to have an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception for about 100 people.  
 
If you have any ideas, please let me know!

I served a wedding at the airport, Brandon flying club, or whatever it is that it's called out there. The building is gorgeous and with minimal decorations (just some lights strung up and a few simple flowers) it was GORGEOUS!

In clear lake is beautiful and rustic!

Not really sure what you are looking for but I was out shooting photos at this place on 17th street east off of Rosser ave. Very cool place. I have attached a link to a photo.

Out by oak lake, I think they have a barn for events...could be wrong worth a look.

A friend of mine got married at the fair grounds in Souris last year, call the town office they can put you in touch with the contact

The rental at the Brandon Airport is at the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum. People have a choice of using the hangar, which contains about 20 antique WWII training aircraft and a number of ground vehicles such as a Jeep, Fire Truck, Staff Cars used by the Air Force during WWII, space is cleared for chairs and tables probably up to 200 or so people... or people can rent the canteen, which is an actual canteen from the training station during World War II. It has been completely restored as it was 70 years ago with modern amenities such as air conditioning, video projector etc available. In back of the canteen is a very nice, neatly trimmed grass field. Last year, someone had a big rental tent set up for a wedding. It is really a great place for celebrations. @rawk is that out at ditchfields? If so its a really cool place you could def have ceremony there. He's a friend of the FAM so if that iinterests you I can get you in touch with him. He also has the main floor of his house set up as a vintage ice cream parlor, not quite rustic but beautiful! I think there have been previous posts about people out of town that have large barns they rent out and I believe someone has started an outdoor venue close by with yard space and tents. With the right decorations that might work for you. We have the air museum book and while its amazing I wouldn't consider it rustic per say. Its def a fun unique location worth looking at. Check the wedding discussion group you will find options to look at. Also clear lake dance land is amazing and with all the wood it would look great with rustic decor. Maybe contact the city too as the building at the rec center was also a nice venue I'm just not sure if its still in use.

Ditchfields was correct. A very interesting place full of nostalgia. Worth checking out.

But with so many people that will be drinking it's hard to get people back into town. Especially from souris.
