So for my wedding I am trying something a little different if all works out. I ain't going to have a huge amount of people comming, so I'm thinking I want to have everything in one. Also I want to have it outside and maybe even over 2 days. So what I'm planning is maybe get a big event tent and do a pig roast kind of deal. So what I need help with is where would I find a place and or land I could rent anywhere from here to winnipeg maybe closer to winnipeg the better but I don't want to be to to far from a town as I said I might do it over 2 days so I'm thinking either hotels,trailers, or tents lol. This is what I mainly need help with is finding a place however maybe cheap places to rent things tables chairs etc everywhere seems crazy. I want as cheap as possible so I can focus on having a great time for cheap ticket prices especially if people may have to rent hotels. Thank you!!!

My daughter had a tent wedding two weeks ago. While it was absolutely beautiful it is not the way to go if you are budget conscious. Besides renting the tent there are also chairs, tables, dishes, and bathrooms that need to be rented on top of the tent itself. And then you have to haul everything. All the above are i:ncluded in a hall space at probably half the price.

what about a golf club or the venue at Austin for thresher man's days. Some campgrounds have venues in them for family gatherings halls etc. or even small towns. wrong direction but I know of one an hour west of Brandon that would be great for an event like that.  
 
Also Danny's whole hog north of Winnipeg do an amazing meal and I have to say the price we paid for it 3 hours from Winnipeg was way better then anything close quoted. plus it was one man in a half ton truck with all the food in heated / cooler boxes amazing to me. and we got to keep all the left overs. not all caterers allow that.  
 
We had 2 meats and baked potatoes beans salads etc.  
we provided some of the food such as buns cause who does not want grandma to make the buns and coleslaw because my slaw is the only slaw to eat and dessert. but price was great for danny's

I agree tent weddings are not as cost effective as one might think. That being said, there is knights rentals in neepawa that rents tents and tables and chairs. They also do dance floors and I think some lighting too. We used them for our wedding and they did a great job, although the lady there is hard to get a hold of, she will still be sure to be there with your tent, on time!  
I think there is also goodharts for tent rentals although I don't know too much about them, I'm sure they do a great job too!  
If you need bathrooms, c and c rentals did ours, and they were also really great to deal with.

We had our wedding at Grand Valley Provincial Park a few weeks ago. We rented a tent, tables, and chairs through Tent Events and they set everything up and took it down. Both TE and GV were amazing to deal with. Guests can camp there for $20 a night. Not sure about the pig roast portion of your question but GV is a wonderful location! Just far enough out of Brandon but not too far!

Curious what the rental was and how many people you're allowed? Also, how were the bathrooms? Thx

Price depends on amount of people. I don't think there is a set limit. I found their prices very reasonable. Give them a call at 204-573-0826. Bathrooms were standard campground bathrooms. They kept them tidy and are working on updating them.
