Want to try these two lakes, but I am not into fly-fishing. Anyone have any tips on what else works/ time of year/ time of day, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated, as my grand-son is very excited about giving trout-fishing a try. Thanks

We used to always troll and catch our limit, but then it became so full of weeds.

That was many years ago, so not sure how the situation is now.

Way too hot right now.

Best over winter for ice fishing, of course. Throughout the hot summer months trout aren't so active and suffer with catch and release.

Better off to wait until mid-september until it ices over, or again in spring with ice off if you're looking for open water.
