Last year I caught about a sturgeon in the low 30's(no tape measure). I handled it correctly and placed her back to catch another time. I think we should start a ebrandon record of sturgeon catches for this year including size and place. Keeping in mind that handling sturgeon is a tricky thing.  
Ask an expert but from what I know:  
- don't take em out of the water if possible. just craddle them for a pic  
-if you gotta touch em make sure your hands are wet of wera a cotton glove. They get a skin infection real easy and it'll kill em.  
-always hold them horizontal...and watch out for the tail on the young ones as they are sharp...i think.  
-be nice as they have been around before we ever were!
