Moulin Rouge

Attended Moulin Rouge last night with my mother and it was absolutely fantastic. I have attended events with my mother since I was a very young girl, and I always hated that we were at events and in our seats at least 45 minutes ahead of time. It drove me crazy!! But, it has been ingrained in me, and now I'm obsessively early too (not 45 minutes tho) but I am in my seat at least 15 minutes ahead of time.
Why are people late for these events? Every time I go to the Centennial, there is at least one occassion where the doors open (letting in distracting light) so that a latecomer can get to their seat. It is incredibly annoying. Not to mention that these latecomers must scramble their way in the dark, past all the people who are already seated - maybe stepping on some toes.
I do think that being late for events is incredibly rude. I know that in some cities, people are not allowed to enter after the lights have gone down. I think this is good practice - now I realize that there are good reasons for occassional lateness, but I think that if people knew that they would not be allowed in the Auditorium until the next act, then maybe they would get their act together. What do you think??
