McDonalds Recalls Shrek Glasses

McDonalds company said that they will recall over 12 million pieces of Shrek glasses n the U.S..
The Shrek glasses are to be recalled because they are said to have cadmium content in the paint on its prints.
Cadmium is a dangerous substance since it has a carcinogen which may cause may complications to the body like kidney, lung, nervous system, intestinal, bone damage and including the brain when intake.
The Shrek glasses with different kinds of design were sold at different McDonalds outlets for 2$ across the country as a promotional offer of McDonalds with the movie Shrek Forever After.
The recall was said by Rep. Jackie Speier of D-Hillsborough last week that initiated the testing and confirmation that the glasses indeed has cadmium in the paint which was use primarily to decorate characters on the McDonald’s “Shrek Forever After” promotional glasses.
There is no word yet if the same manufacturer made the Canadian glasses.
