I try to catch Canadian films whenever I get the chance. If you're not on the ball, though, they come and go pretty fast. In Brandon it's pretty much the Evans that would touch something made in Canada (I see that Sarah Polley's Away From her was there when I was last thee)
Winnipeg has three cinemas that that show them and there are actually, THREE playing at the same time right now in Winnipeg which must be some sort of once in a decade equinox !!
Anyhoo, anyone interested in Canadian Cinema here's the link and a blurb the firstweekendclub. It sends info and promos around about Canadian films when they are released. Also, they have some events (but they are usually limited to Toronto and Vancouver)
