Shake Hands with the Devil

I saw this movie tonight and it was quite something.
It follows Roméo Dallaire as he heads the peacekeeping force in Rwanda during the genocidal civil war in the 90's. It's based on his book of the same title released a couple of years back.
It was an interesting inside look at what went on from his point of view. I knew some about Rwanda but between the lack of media in the country at the time of the war, the UN covering it's but, The Belgian's anger at Canada it was hard to piece together what exactly happened. It was a dark 100 days for UN peacekeeping.
Dallaire is played by Roy Dupuis (Les Boys, The Rocket) and he does a fantastic job. The film is shot part in S Africa but any of the events portrayed as taking place in Rwanda were shot on the actual sites there.
It's not going to be your "feel good movie of the year" but it'll sure put any problems or issues you have going on into perspective.
I am not sure where it would play in Brandon - likely the Evans. I really recommend it when it comes there.
