Amazon has now added Prime video to their Prime package in Canada at long last! No extra cost either, if you are a Prime subscriber!

The whole point of this post was to make people aware that this service was now available to them at no extra charge!  
 
Some people may appreciate that, and may even be happy with the service especially as it is currently a (free service) if you are already (paying) for Prime!

Yeah I just checked it out and nothing special jumping out at me - but as mentioned it's already paid for with my membership so whatever. Also I've recently activated a Twitch.tv account with my amazon membership that I didn't know I could do.  
 
I feel like CraveTV doesn't get enough love - lots of good old series on there.

Why kind of content does the video service have?  
 
I haven't had cable in years, so my expectations are pretty low because I haven't seen much (even with Netflix for a few years now... I could watch TV 8 hours a day and still not see everything I'm interested in).

I'm looking for an idea of content beyond what's listed in the OP's article. Or is that all that's offered?

There is no GOOD Christmas movies there. Mostly for kids, or B movies

Lots of different movies and "Fear the walking dead" and "About a Boy" plus some great older A movies...Nice!  
 
Need something different since  
Shomi is gone  
Crave is mostly series shows and  
Netflix has gotten a bit lame.

It all depends on what you like to watch.  
 
Some up to date movies, some shows. Not a huge library.  
Netflix does not add much in the way of new content either to be honest.  
 
It is a plus that they are not charging extra for the service (if you already have prime). Prime is good on its own for the subscribe and save up to 15%, plus free delivery on thousands of items.  
 
It seems like a bargain for $79 a year with a 30 day trial.  
 
It is great to finally have it in Canada, but it would be even better if they could add more content.

The problem with content is securing Canadian rights. Each streaming service pays the creators of the programming for the right to use it for a given length of time.  
 
An American friend of mine says that Prime is all she needs for her family's TV/movie viewing. Since it is a new roll-out in Canada, I'd expect that they will be testing the waters before investing in a lot of Canadian rights.  
I started watching last night and found "Justified", one of my faves. Also, they have some original programs which I'll be checking out after my justified fix. :-)
