I am looking at purchasing a new car. There is the vehicle protection package which is undercoating, paint sealant, full interior protection and rust module. Is this worth getting? They are also offering extended warranty and total loss protection... is the extra money to spend on the above items worth it?

If you plan on keeping the car for a longtime, the protection is great.  
 
Warranty is always a good thing to have while making payments- nothing bites more than making a car payment and then having a shop bill.

What make of vehicle is it? and what are the price point for each. IF you do not want to post it, then message me.

Good luck going through the process if you ever need to use the warranty, really not worth the extra cost.

All that stuff yourself a a fraction of the cost with stuff you can buy at Canadian Tire. The paint sealant is glorified turtle wax. fabric protectant is just scotch guard. do not ever get leather protectant. and undercoating is easy to do yourself but I could understand getting them to do it but would probably be cheaper to get it done at a paint shop

1. Don’t get coating. Waste of money  
 
2. Extended warranty unless with dealership don’t get. If you have to deal with third party not worth hazzle and you never get your money back plus watch deductible. $100 for each thing they are doing even if same day.  
 
3. Get the new car replacement from autopac covers 2 years and well worth it.

Dont even buy extended warranty with a deductible. IF you were to buy, then buy warranty with $0 deductible.  
 
Also depends on how many KMs you do in a year.

Everything on that list is going to add to the cost of the vehicle.so you are going to pay GST on all that too. It may also not seem a lot but it will be compoundable with interest on any finance deal. It all adds up

The paint of brand new vehicles takes over a year to cure. So instead of paying $200+ for paint protection, 2 or 3 times a year, just wax the vehicle yourself. As for rust protection, if the vehicle is 5 years or older, it might (key word might) be worth getting it done somewhere other then the dealership which one bought the vehicle.

If you think about it, they offer extended warranties because they make money on them. Your warranty that is i:ncluded should cover any troubles you would have with a new vehicle. They DO NOT want to lose money with an extended warranty, they have created many hoops an little things that are not covered. It's really quite crazy how much an extended warranty will not cover. They will pull out all the stops to avoid covering anything on Extended warranty. If you look at what it costs to buy the package, you would realize what a waste of money it is. The company has run the numbers, and overwhelmingly they almost always make money on ext. Warranties.

Also. You can get total loss recovery at your autopac dealer. They offer it for vehicles 2 years old or newer. They replace the full value of the vehicle if totaled.

I bought a new car a year ago. Got the extended warranty through the dealership and so glad I did as my car has caused me soooooo many issues. Also got the mpi 2 year replacement in case you have an accident. As for the other stuff, I didn’t.

Trust me I just went through this with my car. My car had been written off and MPI only paid me for a fraction of my car loan, leaving me with a couple thousand to pay plus buying a new vehicle.  
 
What this protection does is the car company (insurance) will pay the difference from what MPI offers you. The amount you have left owing on your car loan if your car happens to get written off will not come out if your pocket.  
This protection lasts as long as you own your car.  
 
MPI only offers this for 2 years.  
 
Ex: car loan is for $20 000 and car is written off  
MPI only gives you $15 000  
Now you are stuck paying $5 000 out of pocket.  
With this protection the car company (insurance) pays the $5000.  
You walk away free and clear and have no debt from previous car when purchasing a new vehicle.

Your extended warranty would not even be in effect yet as your factory warranty would be covering everything right now
