I’ve had good results with 24”X30” patio blocks. They lay flat so you can still put cargo in your truck box. I used to put them right against the tailgate and used a couple 2X4s to keep them from sliding ahead.
You can find them at almost any lumber yard except for Home Depot at this time of year.
