Just priced out tires/rims tpms balanced and assembled free shipping and only gst from 1010tiresdotcom the overall difference is almost 1000$ cheaper compared to KalTire exact same tires. The tires come with manufacturers warranty and if Kal has better warranty is it worth 1k? just curious if anyone has tried 1010 please share your experience and if you know a better place please share thanks !

yes prices are similar per tire and they don't have rims and tpms sensors and balancing that I can see?

Buying tires like that does nothing to support local jobs or the local economy.  
 
However, with that said, we live in a capitalistic society and it's all about competition. $1000 in your pocket is a lot these days, and you can patch a lot of tires, or buy a lot of groceries for $1000.  
 
If Kal Tire found a supplier to buy rims and tires from for $1000 less per set, what do you think they would do?

Going to be very handy when you hit a pothole or get a nail in the sidewall and you have to wait till they ship a new assembly to you to match what you have. Manufacturers warranty doesn’t mean a hill of beans without road hazard warranty. Manufacturers warranty means that you will be dealing with the manufacturers and only them. So in my opinion.. Once the company gets your money, their obligation to you is done. It really seems like a lot of money difference... I can’t imagine a company staying in business very long if they claim to ship close to 200 lbs freight free either.

I have never done it but am curious how the tire levy is handled and duty as well. Do you need to pay these taxes?  
 
Be sure you know exactly what you will be paying once they arrive in Manitoba.

We ordered tires from them once a few years ago. We had researched the tires and got exactly what we thought we would. We never had a problem with the tires before we sold the car a couple years later, so I can't speak to the warranty. When we need tires again, we wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again, especially at that price difference!

When we ordered, the tire levy and all taxes were paid when we placed our order. We didn't have to pay anything when the delivery company delivered them to our door.  
 
That may have changed though since we ordered, so best to always check with them (or whoever else you are purchasing from) before you place your order.

I see what you are saying but I'm also the person that does not get upsold warrantees and everything else I think so far I've saved quite a bit being frugal I can absorb a nail puncture here and there lol I dont know for 1k im willing to chance it I have CAA and a spare as I'm too old and weak to change the tire anyway their warranty stated For Tires (Kal has the same tires yokohama geolanders)

Have ordered lots of tires online from different companies never had a single issue at all, that said I've also bought lots local as well. Many times the tires I found online were quite comparable in price however it was rims that I found the deepest savings online with.  
 
I try to deal locally with kal tire whenever i can, Brayden and the guys up there are great and always seems no matter how busy they are he will try his best to squeeze you in. Free flat repairs free tire rotations as well if purchased thru them which is nice as well. Even tires I dont purchase there they get all my service business as they are fast and dont b.s you around.

Thanks for that input I'm happy they are there and helpful even if you did not buy from then they are in the Service business and are doing a model job of it sounds like thanks for sharing.

Costco has TPMS sensors available in their tire centre for purchase.  
As far as rims, costco.ca has rims you can choose from based on the model of your vehicle.

I bought a set of tires from discount tire direct and at the time I paid $40 more for road hazard warranty. I didn't think anything of it at the time as I always bought the road hazard warranty and they said I qualified evn though I lived in Canada.  
 
Four yrs later I had a blowout on the tire and remembered I paid for a road hazard warranty. I didn't think it would be covered as quite a time had passed. I called them up and they gave me two options. I could ship the tire to the border and pick it up myself and pay the gst and PST when coming back to Canada or they said they would ship it directly to me but I'd have to pay the shipping. I asked about purchasing the tires locally as Canadian tire sold the same brand. They said yes to me doing that. I asked if they needed proof of my blowout and they said no.  
 
In the end, I bought the tire from Canadian tire and had it installed. I emailed a copy of the receipt to discount tire direct and they reimbursed the full amount to my credit card the same day. I have to say that was probably the best customer service I've ever had.  
 
That being said, with the exchange right now, you have to know your pricing and if you buy from the US, make sure the tires are made in North America or you could be hit with a pretty steep duty tax. A friend of mine bought a set of tires that were made in the UK but sold in the US. Bringing them across into Canada he was hit with a 20% duty on top of gst and PST. So what seemed like a deal in the beginning worked out to more than buying in Canada.  
 
I've bought my last two sets of tires at Canadian Tire. I won't buy from Costco anymore because to be covered under their road hazard warranty, you have to take the tire to their stores in Wpg to get repaired. They won't let you get it repaired locally and then send the bill in for coverage. I found that out the hard way. I asked if they expected me to drive 200kms on a donut spare to get my tire fixed and they said yes, that's our warranty.  
 
So, do your research. Saving a bit of money here and there sometimes isn't worth the hassle in the end.

Has the best warranty,, well worth it when stressed by a blowout etc.
