snowman5 said "Trucks from that era (mid 70's to late 80's) rust away to nothing due to the poor grade of sheet metal used. Most of the survivors are rated on how much money & work was put back into them rather than it's significance to the history of the auto world. To find a true *mint* survivor is almost non existing. Cab, fenders and box are always to be found with rot, plus the sheer numbers of them being produced dropped their value to near nothing. Time appreciated value never really happened to trucks built after the 70's compared with other vehicles like full sized and sports cars. Half ton's often get categorized along with the "disposable cars" (Chevy's chevette, cavalier, citation, Pontiac's sunfire, 6000, phoenix, Oldsmobile's omega, Chryslers's k-cars, Dodge's omni, colt, Ford's taurus, tempo, Buick's skylark) ...cheap, old, ugly and not a lot of loving memories to make them worthy to keep them around. Blue book prices them below their annual insurable rates and appraisers might value a little bit more for it's low mileage, but I think you're going to get stuck in that same stigma of what's it's really worth to someone else. There are auto appraisers in Manitoba that will charge you to get an estimate value. But... sorry to say it, but unless you put some money back into that truck, the paid appraisal won't be worth it. (Unless you know it's a high optioned/low production vehicle)
My advise is to hang on to it. You're not going to get rich off of it, but it might make a cool part of someones collection. ...maybe yours???
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I agree, the value won't make me rich. Surprisingly it's not as terrible on the rust side as you might think.. we did do a rust guard, - (whatever you call it, lol at the body shop)... quite a few years back so I think that might of helped to slow it down. Considering there is only 40,000 kms on it thats pretty low lol . The seat has always been covered, never saw the light - the dash, not so lucky lol
I hate to see it sit and rot when someone might enjoy rebuilding it. As I say, I have no clue what to list it for so these couple posts give me an idea - maybe I should just put best offer and see what happens.
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
