Car wash

Just gassed up at the coop on Richmond and noticed something that just did not seem right.
Cars are lined up for the car wash, 6 deep per line. At about 4 minutes per wash, that works out to 24 minutes sitting in line.
And every single car in the line had their motor running.
It's not even cold out, why would you waste all that fuel idling? And why would you sit in a line that long in the first place?
