car buying lessons? lol

ok, my husband and i are possibly looking at getting a new vehicle. Right now we have a Ford Freestar (2005) with the lease up in sept. we spoke with someone at a pontiac dealership who wants us to meet with them to look at some cars next week. We are looking at possibly getting the Vibe SE, does anyone know much about them? love em? hate em?
aside from that, they are saying they will buy out our lease, which i take to mean they are buying out the lease, but not paying the buy out so that they would own the car? (my husband assumes its the other way) and they said they would just ad that to our purchasing price. is this in any way a good deal? what should we look out for?
