Thankful for advance autobody
5/24/2009 at 12:08 AM
So my husband got into a little accident and dented our cars back bumper in the corner (never broke it just put a dent in it). The dent was about the size of a large potatoe. He was at fault so we decided to not go through autopac and get it fixed ourselves. So I took it to a large autobody shop and said to the lady "can the bumper be taken off and the dent popped out?" the adjuster said "no, it won't work, not giving me a straight answer as to why.. and went on to give me an estimate and said it's cheaper to buy a new bumper and have it painted then it is to fix the old bumper" So the estimate was $580 for a dent in the corner the size of a potato. So I left and am like I wanna get a second opinion. I took it to advance and the guy looked at it and said "oh yeah we can heat this up and pop it out for about $50" they fixed it and it looks like nothing ever happend there (except for the paint is a little webbed). Moral of the story for everyone is if in question get a second opinion... or take it to advance autobody..
