HAALLP!!! I don't know how to get rid of this car!

I hope someone can help me out with this...
I was asked if I wanted a car that was abandoned by a person for several years on another persons property. The vehicle is drivable, but we haven't been able to contact the owner who abandoned the vehicle to get the Transfer of Ownership signed over to me. I have an interested buyer, but I cannot sell it because I "technically" don't "own" it. I have gotten nowhere speaking with MPI, Vehicle Registrations and the courthouse. There has to be SOMEWAY to get this done. Could anyone help?
