Autopac ( MPIC ) - info needed

I would like some help( info here).
I did some research on the MPIC site buts it is kinda grey
I just bought a vehicle from someone out of Town. I want to take it in for a pre safety to catch things and fix them before the real one.
MPIC says that I can buy a "up to" 30 day permit to move this from out of Province if I bought it. They say squat about in Province or in City that I can see!
Yes I could phone for info but this is Sunday.
I simply want to get it to the shop and back. In the old days there was a one day permit for 15 bucks. The last time I was involved in this there was a $15 fee and they wanted the from address and go to address a start and finish time( one day) Then I heard 30 for 5 days. Has anyone gone through this in the last while??
