Trucks-What to choose?
5/25/2010 at 8:42 AM
So it looks like the family 4 door focus is getting to be a little too small for us. I have always been a 4x4 truck person but cannot justify the high cost of todays prices. We have slowly started to shop for something used that we can use daily. Is the larger truck worth the price? I have been looking at full 4 door(crew cabs) GMC Canyons/Chev Colorados, Dodge Dakotas. If I could afford it I like the Toyotas but they are really priced high. I only have a light 16' boat with looking at a small camper in the future. Is the larger F-150 or 1500 series by Dodge and GM/Chev worth the extra cost? I don't have quads, big campers, ski-doo or anything like that and my budget is around the 20k mark. Is there people out there that bought a smaller truck and questioned their decision? I know one day that I will get a 5th wheel and that but that is not within the next 10 years and by then I would be looking at a newer truck anyway. I have been looking at 2007 and up as I see the warrenty on autos jumped to 160k powertrain. Our driving only takes us to and from work with odd trips to the store. I want the box to haul garbage and firewood for at home, plus the odd misc. stuff.
