interior lights wont go off on van

i shut my van off and the interior light stays on. The doors are all shut and the key is out of the ignition. The "door open" light is on even when i am driving I checked all doors and they are closed. I put a new battery in bc the other one would be dead by morning. This must have been going on for a few days. I checked when i got out and the lights were off but came on again and stayed on. The light on the outside of the door for the key is even on. My van is a 1998 Windstar. Any suggestions other then unhooking the positive cable on the van? Any advice would be great! Thank you.
