I want to hear your thoughts from people that owns a jeep wrangler or similar types. How much you like those jeep, mileage, drive smoothly, if build good and any parts to replace when needed, tires, how much room seat/or the back, etc.  
Any better deal places to shop for those?

I own the above:  
Fun vehicle, lots of power, not so great on fuel.  
Parts are expensive however this particular vehicle has been trouble free for me...so far.

Because Jeeps are awesome that's why you see so many! . I have one and love it. The fuel mileage isn't the best but it's not super bad. Some people like modifying there jeep and going 4x4ing in mud, Jeeps can climb pretty much anything! Take one for a test drive!

If you want a small capable utilitarian 4x4, there is unfortunately no other similar vehicles but the wrangler sold in Canada, unless you want to fork out 100k for a g wagon.  
 
Plus I think they get a bad rep because many used models have been previously abused off-road.

Jeep death wobble. A coworker has a jeep and she has never gone off roading with had had it for years and it was fine but then one day, driving down the highway it starting shaking and shuttering. It happens more often than you would think but certainly not to every vehicle.

When I wrote of my Jeep Compass, my father thought he'd 'assist' in finding a new vehicle. I test drove ALOT, but as soon as I got in a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to test drive, my mind was made up! I'll NEVER go back to anything else. Extended warranties are available for parts, etc. They're great at keeping you posted for factory replacement warranties. Jeeps look awesome, are a wonderful summer companion for any destination. Don't forget, it's a "JEEP THING"....have you EVER seen any other make and/or model wave at each other when they drive by? Just sayin'...best of luck!

I bought my jeep for the fun factor. It's not great on gas, but neither was my Grand Prix that I had previous. It's not a smooth riding vehicle, not super luxurious. I'm fine sitting in it, but wouldn't recommend for a large person. I LOVE IT, AND WOULD'NT CHANGE!

I bought a fully loaded Wagoneer, 1988.  
It was like a Cherokee. Air Conditioning.  
More options than you would believe.  
Leather seats were so comfortable.  
 
Used it in the bush for hunting. Awesome.  
Unbelievable traction. Never stuck.  
I drove up beside stuck chevys to pull them out.  
 
I once pulled out a lady stuck in the bottom of a ditch.  
 
Put a blade on it and pushed snow off parking lots.  
 
Fuel? 20 mpg, no problem. Spent more than that at Tim's.  
 
When it finally got written off, MPI paid extra. Got all my money back.  
 
I knoe a guy with a modified Grand Cherokee LTD.  
 
He uses it in the desert near Pheonix, Arizona.  
 
The Air Conditioner is essential. Nothing like a Jeep.  
 

On my 4th wrangler. Only vehicle I've ever owned. No issues EVER!

I'm on my 6th Jeep Wrangler Sahara.. Since 1987. The one I own presently has 277,000 miles on it. I didn't like the style change after 2007. roof off in 5 minutes Doors in 2. fuel 24 hi-way 17 city It does not ride like a Caddy! that's for sure... Good luck

My last one I owned before I had kids was a CJ7 all restored. Was a beauty and I miss her so much.  
 
As for your question it's hard to say. Most dealerships have websites and you can price them out. Winnipeg has always been a bit cheaper for me when I buy new. Be prepared a new wrangler isn't cheap. You'll be in the 40,000-$45,000+ range depending on what model you go with. A rubicon is the top end with upgraded axles, lockers, 4.10 etc. Your cheapest, base model is the Sport.

to do without some options, the base model Wrangler (2 doors, soft top, manual transmission) is pretty cheap - I paid $18,900 for mine (not including tax) in 2012 brand new here in Brandon. Think they bring them in as lost-leaders, since changing up to a hard top or automatic adds almost $10K. Still has lots of features, and I plan to drive it into the ground. Also, lots of aftermarket suppliers for parts.

Three things kept us out of a wrangler. Poor tow rating, no auto mode on the transfer case and that the doors just have a strap to keep them from swinging all the way open definitely a problem with kids. Also keep in mind the lower models won't have a limited slip rear diff either. Other than that good engine, interior is decent, parts are no worse than any other vehicle.

is easily changed to what you want. It is just nylon strap with loops on the end, easy to make yourself. The factory one lets you open the door very wide. Sometimes that is a good thing.

but on older ones you will always have Fender dimples ( rust ) and windows Farm rust  
many other issues dependent on which model and year you get  
 
electrical is always an issue with any Chryslers product , from signels , to lights to wipers  
 
Transmission sensor is a known issue  
$150 if you do it yourself  
the rear axile issue , also dependent on which one of the 3 transmit ions you get there might be an issue  
 
 
Now with all that side its one of my favorite Cars , where do you get power , speed, 4X4 , and a convertible all in one ?  
JEEP , suzuki Land rover , and Mercedes  
 
Suzuki no power , no parts and I think last one you can get in Canada is 1986 ,  
Landrover is 2 X$$ of a jeep and a Mercedes is 5X$$$$ of a jeep  

am looking for 4 doors and no fancy anything, no big options added to it, a jeep high to drive and good drive in winter with snow . But hope to fit 2 bikes at the back.

I am currently looking for another YJ, have one already but need another one very soon, pm me with what you have or know of someone who has one for sale...

check out Brandon Antique Pickers hwy 10 before the airport. Bob has a Jeep YJ there. Not sure on price.  
 
As for the op I love Jeeps. I had a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 93 Jeep YJ, and now a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Great vehicle. Comfy too. I am tall and lots of head room, as well as having 2 kids that fit in the back with lots of space. My only complaint is gas mileage, (but I didn't buy it for good fuel), and I just have the soft top and it makes it very difficult to put things in the back because the top half doesn't open very easy.

I traded in my Ford Escape for a Jeep Patriot a couple of years ago. I liked my Escape, but I LOVE my Patriot! Not fabulous gas mileage, but for a small SUV I didn't really expect it. I would definately buy another Jeep when it's time to trade this one in.

For almost two months when my car was written off.  
 
Cant recall the exact model I had, but I loved it. It was sturdy, comfortable, but REALLY hard on gas.  
 
SO when it came time to shop for a new car to replace the old, it was the first thing I went to.  
 
But the up front pricing for the Grand Cherokee was astonishing. It was a lot higher than I expected it to be. So I test drove the lower end Cherokee and was not happy with it. It felt noisy, bumpy, just not as refined. And knowing how hard the GC was on gas for the months I had it, I just was not sold.  
 
By comparison, the loaded Hyundai Santa Fe I ultimately picked was almost $20,000 less than the JGC, had more features (like back row heated leather seats instead of cloth unheated ones,sunroof, back up camera and two years more bumper to bumper warranty) and has been extremely fuel efficient.  
 
If I had more cash to float around, I think I would get the JGC - they are sharp cars and fun to drive - but I have been very happy with my Santa Fe so far.

i look at jeep compass and grand cherokee...maybe better performance but they are not same look than jeep wrangler

The Jeep compass and patriot are considered crossovers and are basically the same thing, just body styling, though the patriot is slightly better for light offroading, as it has a low range gear option.  
The the AWD system, ground clearance/suspension both of these have is designed more for pavement use, and since they are full time 4wd they will be great for snow and ice, and everyday road use. but not so good in tough off-road conditions.  
 
The grand Cherokee is a nice Luxury SUV, although capable its expensive.  
 
There's also the Commander, similar to the grand Cherokee, with more boxy utilitarian styling, but was discontinued in 2010.  
 
Then the Renegade, a super compact little 4x4, but needs suspension and wheel upgrades for any serious offroading.  
 
The wrangler is the classic Jeep, its an out of the box off-road vehical, that does okay on the road too, they never really become dated as the design hardly changes, any dents or scrapes just add character, the appeal is really in the utilitarian aspect.

i had the moab green machine with 33's. traded in for as its horrible for highway use....needed something better for travelling/kids. still see it around the city when i come down south for visits. really miss it! im from the north and it was great for playing in the mud, fishing/hunting trips and esp climbing rocks where i am from. Don't invest unless your gonna use it as it should be used!
