Who installs the in car warmers that sit on the passenger side of the car and turn on an hour or so before you start your car in the morning on cold days? I cannot install myself.

Canadian Tire sells them. As for installing they are not that hard, my husband did mine and we put it on a timer.

I think it would be worth calling different garages to see  
what suggestions & prices you are quoted. Brenda - You said it was easy to install & then said your husband did yours, could "you" do it yourself?

...I have no idea how to install these and I do not have full capacities for bending etc. Are the timers extra? Are they a special sort of timer? Where does the timer get attached? Where does the heater get its power from? How is it attached to the car? Does the heater have to attach to the battery (that would be no good)....does anyone know how this process works? "Easy" means nothing unless it comes with the "easy" instructions...

Here is how I did mine and for the wife's car.  
 
Runs directly off a timer at the plug in. 4 am the timer clicks on, turns on my block heater and interior warmer.  
 
Wired to the plug at the front of my car (or in other cases to another smaller cord). Ran that cord through the fender/wheel well, ran cord through a hole to get to interior of automobile, and put another cord on there. That cord plug into the heater (so I can remove it easily in the spring).  
 
Not the easiest thing to do, but it is more just finding a way to get the wiring to the interior of the car. Doing my wife's car took an hour, and of that 45 minutes was just getting a way to get the wiring into the interior of the car.  
 
Have ran one for the past 3 winters. When it is plugged it, I have not once needed to scrape windows, just having to sweep off heavier snow falls.

Any car shop will install a car warmer, even supply it if you don't already have one. I would recommend just go where ever you get your car serviced, if you trust them and I'm sure they would be happy to do it.

and a battery blanket that you can have - the interior car warmer is about 30 years old - made of metal - made by Sears - includes a timer in the unit. It still works perfectly.  
 
I had to drill a hole in the firewall (very carefully so as not drill into anything) then ran a heavy duty cord from the interior of the car to just in front of the rad - made sure that the cord didn't touch anything hot or anything that might get caught in the cord - attached a female end to the cord inside the car and a male end to the cord in front of the rad. The interior warmer was attached underneath the glove box. Then I had an extension cord with a few plug-ins under the hood by the rad so I could plug in the block heater and the battery blanket and car warmer.  
 
This was a long time ago on a rear wheel drive vehicle so there was ample room under the hood to do this work.  
 
I definitely would NOT drill a hole through the firewall in someone else's car but if you can find someone who would do the installation for you then you are welcome to have this old interior warmer and battery blanket.  
 
I know Cdn Tire sells interior car warmers and from looking at their website it looks like they are smaller than my old unit but you would still need someone to drill a hole through your firewall and install it properly.

I plug my car into a remote switched unit outside. Then when you get up first thing in the morning you just use the fob in the house to switch it on. If you use an extension cord that lights up and you can see it from a window then you can see if it caught the signal.  
HEY I saw these type of remotes on sale at TSC last weekend too!  
Any garage can do the install. Hardest thing is to find a spot for it in todays cars.

I will never have an interior car warmer again. We ended up having a heavy snowfall one night and the warmer kicked in......well all the melted snow ran down my car and froze. I had a hell of a time trying to open my doors and such after that.

when I was running an interior warmer I never had to drill through the firewall to run the cord because there is always an existing hole already from wiring going in. Basically, you make yourself a short extension cord (about 3 feet) to go from inside engine compartment (with male plug) to just inside the interior (with a female plug) on it.  
Put the female plug on first and then pull the cord back into the eng compartment until plug is up against firewall. Now you can use another short extension cord to join block heater and interior heaterand run the male end out to the front of the vehicle.  
Lastly I mounted the interior warmer on a small peice of plywood so in case it got too hot which they sometimes do, was not likely to start a fire or even melt carpeting.
