I've heard there is someone who works for MPI who will take students out driving on the routes they generally take for the drivers test. My daughter has already taken drivers ed last summer but with graduated licensing, you can only go for your drivers test 9 months after. She needs a boost of confidence. Looking for this person's contact information.

I'm a single mom of a 15 1/4 year old. I believe the age at 15 1/2 means my son can get his beginners. Can he? I have no clue how any of this works and the MPI website is not very helpful with answering some of these simple questions. I got my license before this whole Graduated switch over and it just sounds confusing. Also, is there any other option for Drivers Ed besides school for a high school student? He's 15 1/2 in May and doesn't want to wait for school in the fall.

There are several people in Brandon with driving schools that will take out drivers at a fee. MPI does not employ any of these people, they are all private businesses. As far as driver's ed goes, you have to be 15 1/2 to enroll in a school driver's ed program, or 16 to write the learners test at MPI without the school program
