"They all go bad and interfere with other vehicle operations. Plus, an add-on system can and will interfere with immobilizers."
I've been involved in the automotive industry for many years, years before any kind of remote started was available to the consumer. This statement is as wrong as a statement can be.
If a remote starter is properly installed it will work with all vehicle systems, including immobilizers. There are some vehicles that are much more challenging than others, but if the correct starting system is chosen and installed properly it will offer years of trouble free operation.
