Chevrolet Equinox and Ford Escape, what would be the better choice? The ride, fuel costs, interior space, maintenance, etc. Torn between the two but leaning towards the Escape. Just wanted some opinions.

All vehicles are junk. Buy the one you like driving, the best. You like the Escape, buy that.

The dealer ship/service department in town for choice #2 is atrocious I got so sick of it I got rid of the choice #2 I had but really liked the vehicle

I have no personal experience with the Equinox, though I have had great experiences with our Chevy vehicles and the dealership we've bought 4 vehicles from. We bought a used Escape with less than 100,000 km on it for my daughter a few years ago and have had nothing but problems with the vehicle and the local dealership, including having to buy a new transmission, steering column to the tune of $6,000 last year. There have been multiple recalls on the Escape, but not all escape VIN numbers are included in the recalls. (My daughters wasn't included even though it had the exact same issue as the recall was for).  
I'd recommend some Google searching of each model to identify possible consistent issues.

We bought a new Escape from the dealer in Brandon two years ago. We love it and the service has been phenomenal. A family member has a newer Equinox and we all hate how uncomfortable it is. Also the Escape had much better driver visibility.

I have an escape and my mom has the equinox. I find the equinox is a little lower and uncomfortable. And my mom agrees. Plus side with the escape is the outdoor keypad. So if you lock your keys in or need something out of it you just put ur code in and it unlocks and you just have to relock it on door.
