I was just wondering if anybody, hates civilians with dashcams. Had incident today, heard buzzing sound at the town center parking lot while in my car, didn''t look up thought my car making weird noise, I was parked with my car on while finishing work order on my phone, I''m a contractor. So I fill up with gas at coop see a hole in my mirro cap, the car is brand new. I feel kinda stupid now, I dunno if someone drilled my mirror cap or what?

I think they are great, you have video evidence if something goes wrong.

Dash cams should be mandatory. It would help stop all the weasels from being all weaselly and trying to weasel out of responsibility in an accident....weasels.....

I'm confused... What exactly are you asking??  
 
You started talking about what people think about dashcams then went on about being a contractor and sitting in your car while someone drilled the mirror cap while getting gas at coop???

I don't see what a buzzing sound and a hole in your mirror has to do with dash cams?

Pretty sure he's asking if he should get one, or if people don't like the idea of them

Did someone drill out your camera? It sounds like he is asking if there are people who hate dashboard cameras so much that they would destroy them.  
 
Are you saying that you think someone drilled the camera out of your vehicle while you were standing around focused on your work? I've never heard of people going around doing that.

Are you asking if people would be offended if you installed a dash-cam because someone drilled into your side mirror on your vehicle???

This cliffhanger of a thread is offending me more than any dash cam. We need answers to the tough questions. Somebody vandalized your vehicle with a drill? To what end? What IS a mirror cap?

Get one if you want one. I don't care. Just don't try to force me to get one. I can see where this is going already, the typical attitude in today's society that everything should be mandatory.

I talked with the OP about this, it sounds like he thought he heard a buzzing sound while parked, then later noticed a hole in the plastic housing of his side mirror.  
 
It might have been a stone hit or something and the buzzing was just background noise at the time ?  
 
Not sure why he mentioned dash cams, he will need to clarify that.

you were sitting in your vehicle-presumably in the drivers seat?-while someone was drilling on your side mirror (which side ?) you do not need a dash cam. You need to be a little less absorbed in your phone and a little more interested in what goes on around you.  
 
Dash cams are nice to have, though I'm not sure if one would pick up a person standing off to the side of your vehicle? The ones I have seen footage from generally showed the front and rear views, not anything much on the sides of the vehicle

The Mirror cap is the colored piece that covers the mirror that was on my drivers side, it's fixed now, part guy figures it was rock, I was just freaked about how big the hole was!

So, what do you guys think about aliexpress? It's probably harder than Amazon to return things that break or don't work. Plus the shipping time is crazy. Same as DX. I sure like motorcycles. I ate at Tana yesterday and I think it's the best restaurant in the city, but I still like Chilli Chutney.
