I've done some scouting at the local shops/stores for all season tires. Has anyone had experience buying online? I was looking on Quattro Tires and the price is significantly less than anything around here so obviously I think there's a catch...can anyone recommend a reputable website or am I better off just getting everything here. Thanks for the help!

Last fall I bought a set of tires for my 3/4 tonne truck, had them studded too. No catch, other than consider the freight from Quebec and installation locally if just tires. I was concerned if they would be old tires, but they were quite fresh, I think within the last three months.

size of tire are you looking to buy and what brand are you looking for. just want to know if you are comparing apples to apples.

P195/65R15. I'm honestly not picky about brand, I don't know too much about them all. I'm just wanting something budget friendly that isn't going to wear out quick. The exact tires in question were these: http://www.quattrotires.com/index.php/dimensions/summer/195/65/15

You will have to think of the extra cost to install them on the rims and be balanced which is included when you them in Brandon

That's my motto for most things, so a cheap tire is a cheap tire, go to Walmart for them. As a previous poster replied, make sure you compare the same tire, not just size, but manufacture and make locally and online to be sure there really is a saving.

Something else to consider is warranty and tire repairs/changeover cost. A local company may repair flats free or change your tires to winter free or cheap, whereas if you buy online, then you need to consider that in the price and if it really is a deal.

for the help! I never thought of some of the points you guys brought up, will definitely be getting something local. Now, can anyone recommend good brands? It's for a Civic, mostly in city with the occasional highway trip...

according to Consumer Reports is the Continental Pure Contact - not to be confused with the Continental True Contact which is a lower grade tire made exclusively for Cdn Tire. Many of my friends have recently bought the Nokian WRG 3 which is an all-weather tire and available only from Kal Tire - pricey but a great tire for all 4 seasons they tell me. My current vehicle came from the factory with Continental Procontact tires and I've been completely satisfied with them also. You can certainly buy cheaper tires at Walmart or Cdn Tire but I personally wouldn't buy their house brands - your life depends on your tires - don't settle for cheap crap - just my opinion.

if this will help a little to get a slightly better quality tire, but you can always get the MPI winter tire program and buy a all around good tire as long as it has the snowflake symbol and add it onto your insurance. You're paying a little more in the long run, but it helps if you don't have the cash right now. The tires I got are mud/snow and I leave them on all year round, it I didn't do the program I would have cheaped out and bought a lesser tire that would have wore out a lot sooner than the ones I have on.

I used this site, got a really good deal on a really good tire (toyo's) Paid 40 bucks per tire for shipping. They delivered to my house and dropped them in my front porch.
