Ok, So i have a 3000w portable generator that is brand new and when i go to plug my camper into it, it connects it and the inverter light in the camper comes on but no power is delivered to it. When i plug into our house it works with no problem at all. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

The first thing I would check is for a breaker or a switch on generator and try and run a fan or something off of it to ensure it is putting out power. Good luck

breaker panel in the trailer it's probably off by the sound of it.

Some campers run on DC power

The shore power line is wired to the inverter the generator works for other things

Like I said when it's plugged into our garage everything works fine

he never said what kind of camper it is.Maybe its an old pop up for all we know.We had one of those back in the 70's that ran on DC only.Hopefully he chimes in and let's us know

For fuses or breakers that may be blown or tripped in the camper, also if you have a multimeter check what your output voltage is on your generator, maybe the camper has something in it that won't allow power through if the voltage is below a certain amount your generator may not be supplying enough voltage. Is there a panel in your camper? If there is take the cover off and test for voltage on the line side of your panel with the generator plugged in and running to see if power is getting to that point

just the 12vdc system (Lights) that wont work or is it the 120vac as well (plugs)? If its just the 12vdc system then the sine wave from the generator could be too choppy for the converter. Electronics can be picky

12v works when I have my batter attached

Simple question first, have you tested the generator by plugging something benign in like a lamp to see if its actually putting out power?

Camper plugged direct into garage->:camper works fine.  
 
Camper plugged direct into generator->:camper does not work.  
 
Light plugged directly into generator->: does or doesn't work?  
 
Also what brand/model of generator?

Generator to light works  
Tested another generator today as well

how modern is the camper.  
Some had a switch that you had to operate that switch from 12v to 110.

set up to supply 220 and if it is are you connecting to the wrong voltage plug line. generators will supply both do they not, 220 and 120  
 
try this, pick yourself up a little power tester they look light a fat pen. they are about 10 bucks you just hold to the cable that you think is live and it will emit a sound, or little light.  
try it on your house wiring or a counter plug so you see what it does.  
now plug the trailer into the garage and see what the little tester does on the main cable coming form the trailer,  
now plug trailer into the generator, if the tester still lights up then you know the cable is taking the power from the generator, it must be the trailer wiring, maybe convertor that is not working.  
 
are you dealing with 120 or 220 on the trailer and generator.

Depending how new or what type of quality the inverter is in the camper, it is possible that the generator is outputting dirty 120V power. The voltage coming from your garage is clean and works in your camper. A light bulb doesn't care about the quality of the voltage it sees but the generator could be outputting an unclean sine wave for it's voltage. Electronics don't like it very much and if your camper has an electronic power supply, this could be a problem.  
 
We use generators and power supplies at work. Inverters that we use in vehicles never worked on our power supplies, only hydro voltage would work until we got the proper generator.  
 
Just a stab in the dark because it seems like you have tried everything else.

Had a similar problem. Couldnt figure it out for the life of me until I checked the gfi circuit on the plug in the bathroom. It had tripped somehow and all power went thru that circuit. Acted lie camper had no power anywhere until I reset the gfi. Just a thought hope it helps
