I think there might of been a post on this several months back but I cannot seem to find it . Anyway I'm looking to put in a new command start in my Honda Civic . There was an old Viper in there but it no longer works and is 10 years old. Someone told me extreme electronics do that type of work but that they were very expensive so I am open to suggestions ? Thx.

Did mine 2 years ago. I haven’t had any issues with it. It was around $700 total for the FM model with the 2way FOB that gives you feedback. They have different options, I think the AM one was around $450 at the time.

I would suggest calling around before ever spending 700.00 on a remote start. Anything over 600 would be cause for concern.

That's what I was thinking. $700 could get me a set of good tires ! My last command start was $299 and was good for 10 years. I just need a basic one that locks the doors and starts the car.

700 will get you a 2 way remote start. There are still some that can run cheaper. Try extreme electronics.

$820 and it worked for the first 2 days. Next time around I'm going to make sure I buy the model that comes with factory command.

to train your wife to start the car. Kidding most command starters today are very complex, as they have to electronically go around the checks that today's cars do before they start and that is where trouble can start. Your car is older and may not be effected by all the checks but if you get someone who does not know exactly what they are doing, could cause problems down the road. When a dealership installs a command start it is almost a plug and play that still can take up to 3 hours to complete due to all the programing they have to do just so you can start your engine without the keys in the car. What I'm trying to say is just go out and start your car save some money and some hassle.

The only place I will go for my command starts is DR Auto Extras in Yorkton. They have been installing them for 30 years and I have never had an issue. They don't sell the inferior quality command starts. Definitely worth the drive long term.

Found mine online on Amazon and then had Superior make it work. Saved me tons of hassle and extra cost.

Just had one put in by the Accessory Shop at Murrays. Harry at Minute Muffler would be my next choice.

We got ours installed recently at Murrays on Richmond for $175, works perfectly!

Definitely do not take it to Superior Auto, they completely ripped off a friend. Charged her $1000 and it still doesn't work. Unbelievable
