22 Char cows born in 2021 & 20 mixed mostly Angus and SIMM.
Bred to black and Red SIMM and angus bulls; Bull turn out was July 15 and pulled Oct 8.
Bulls are selected for a BW of 80-95lbs and selected for high calving ease on pasture.
Our operational goal is to graze 365days of the year. We corn and swath graze and supplement with straw and hay as needed. We expect our cattle walk for both feed and water and at times lick snow. We accomplish this with an intensive electric fencing system moving and monitoring cattle daily to maintain performance and make a profitable cow that works for you.
These cattle are familiar with both temporary and permanent electric fence and are trained to walk under wires instead of gates. They were vaccinated with fermicon 7 and Express and inoculated with ivermectin in Nov. The cattle are quiet and respond well to being lead by a quad or tractor to new feed or grass. We complete 3mile moves in less than an hr and practice low stress management. They are also great mothers and having a natural herd mentality to protect from predators while still being able to tag at birth on pasture with only a few exceptions.
