Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Carpenter Apprentice or Experienced Carpenter to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with 7–12 months of carpentry experience who are eager to expand their skills and gain hands on experience in the trade.
Applicants must be willing to travel to remote northern locations, including Nunavut, as part of project requirements.
In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced carpenters on a range of commercial construction projects, including framing, renovations, and structural work. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career in a supportive, growth focused, and safety-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist journeyman carpenters in constructing and installing wooden and light-steel structures and fixtures
• Support framing, renovation, and structural maintenance tasks on commercial buildings
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics to understand project requirements
• Safely operate hand tools and power tools used in daily carpentry tasks
• Participate in concrete formwork and preparation for pours as required
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres to safety protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper care and storage of tools and materials
Qualifications
• Level 1 Carpenter Apprentice or a minimum 7–12 months of carpentry experience
• Required certifications: PPE, working at heights, fall arrest
• Driver's License
• Tool belt and basic hand tools
• Willingness to learn, follow direction, and grow under the guidance of experienced tradespeople
• Familiarity with construction terminology, blueprints, and schematics
• Experience using common hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to advance within the carpentry trade
