The Town of Virden is accepting applications for the full-time position of Manager of Utilities.
Under the general direction of the Operations and Facilities Manager, the position oversees and manages the full spectrum of utility services (water and wastewater) and supervises Operations staff with certifications in any of the four water and wastewater operator disciplines. They will assist the Operations and Facilities Manager with the direction and work planning for Utilities. They will be expected to communicate professionally with both residents and contractors. The position will provide administrative support and assistance to the Operations and Facilities Manager in this area. The following is not an all-inclusive listing of work requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Grade 12 high school education or equivalency
- Level II in Water Treatment; Level III in Wastewater Treatment
- Level I in both Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection
- Valid Manitoba Driver?s License
- Must hold or be willing to work toward and maintain basic required occupational health and safety tickets for CPR/AED (First Aid), confined spaces entry, transportation of dangerous goods, H2S Safety and WHMIS
- Must be cleared by a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) security check
The Town of Virden offers a competitive salary between $80,000 and $100,000 per annum based on qualifications and experience, as well as benefits and pension package.
