Automotive Parts Associate
Virden Mainline Motors is currently seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Automotive Parts Associate to join our dealership team. This role supports both shop technicians and retail customers, playing a key part in keeping our service department running efficiently and our customers well looked after.
If you're organized, enjoy problem-solving, and want hands-on experience in the automotive industry, this role offers a great opportunity to grow. Previous parts or dealership experience is considered an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Technician Support
- Assist service technicians and retail customers with parts and accessory requests
- Identify correct parts by asking the right questions and understanding customer needs
- Provide knowledgeable, friendly service in person and over the phone
Inventory & Ordering
- Monitor parts inventory and assist with ordering to maintain adequate stock levels
- Identify parts that are in stock, need re-ordering, or require special ordering
- Research part availability within the dealership or from external suppliers
- Obtain accurate information for special orders and ensure correct parts are received
Inventory Accuracy & Organization
- Assist the Parts Manager in resolving inventory discrepancies
- Locate parts efficiently using part numbers and bin locations
- Understand seasonal parts demands and recall-related requirements
Sales & Communication
- Recognize sales opportunities by recommending related parts or services when appropriate
- Communicate effectively with all dealership departments to support daily operations
- Proactively contact customers to provide updates or gather information when required
Requirements:
- General understanding of automotive systems (or a strong willingness to learn)
- Comfortable using computer-based inventory systems
- Strong communication skills (in person and by phone)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage workflow independently
- Team-oriented with a customer-first mindset
- Valid driver's license
- Previous automotive parts or dealership experience is an asset
Compensation:
Starting from $20.00 per hour
