Heavy Truck & Trailer Mechanic
King Spud Potato Transport ltd is currently looking for a heavy duty truck and trailer mechanic to join our team!
We are a large scale trucking business located just outside of Carberry Manitoba that hauls all the bulk potatoes to McCain Portage and Carberry locations daily.
The successful candidate must :
- Have mechanical experience in the truck and trailer industry.
- Preform all tasks related to yearly safety work on Semis and Trailers.
- Must know how to change slacks, s-cams, wheel bearings, wheel seals as well as brakes.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, greases, brake adjustments and tire rotations
- have basic knowledge of Volvo, Peterbilt and Kenworth highway tractors.
- Be able to diagnose and repair wiring issues on equipment.
- Have knowledge of ABS and be able to repair it on trucks and trailers.
- Have knowledge of trinity trailers and van trailers or be willing to learn.
- Be willing to do on the road fixes when required if break downs occur.
- Experience with AC systems
- Must have valid class 5 license
- Welding and fabrication skills an asset
- Class one license is an asset
- Any experience with ag equipment or small vehicle reapairs is also an asset ( we have a farm too )
- MUST be punctual and show up for work daily
