Curriculum & Strategic Initiatives Coordinator
Southwest Horizon School Division is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic educator to fill the role of a 1.0 FTE (0.75 Permanent, 0.25 Term) Curriculum and Strategic Initiatives Coordinator, effective September 8, 2026.

? Lead with Impact: Provide divisional leadership in the development and improvement of instruction and assessment.
? Drive Innovation: Assist the Superintendent with long-range divisional planning and the implementation of cutting-edge curriculum.
? Empower Educators: Coordinate and deliver high-impact Professional Learning Opportunities and Divisional PD Days that align with our Strategic Plan.
Qualifications and Experience:
? Manitoba, or equivalent, Teacher?s Certificate
? Minimum of a Bachelor of Education Degree and five years successful teaching experience
? Master of Education in Curriculum Development is considered an asset
? Background and experience in assessment and programming is considered an asset
? Background and experience in administrative duties is considered an asset
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
? Strategic Planning and Instructional Leadership: Provide leadership in developing and improving instruction and assessment aligned with divisional strategic priorities, assisting the Superintendent with long-range planning and instructional facilitation for administrators.
? Assessment Coordination and Data Management: Oversee the development of assessment policies and reporting practices while coordinating and monitoring data collection for both provincial (including EDI) and divisional assessments.
? Professional Learning and Research: Communicate current educational research and coordinate and deliver Professional Learning Opportunities and Divisional PD Days for staff, with a focus on curriculum and assessment.
? External Liaison and Grant Management: Represent the division on provincial committees, liaise with Manitoba Education and the Rural Learning Consortium, and manage local and provincial grants to ensure access to essential resources and curriculum materials.
? Specialized Program Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance in specialized areas, including technology integration across the curriculum, HSAP, and Career Development.
? The ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
