Does anyone know what tournaments are planned in the Westman area for this summer? My wife and I got in a few last year but there were a couple we didn't know about that we would have loved to have entered.

Registration is at the Minnedosa Golf Club April 15, tournament is May 27. Info is here - http://rockinthefields.ca/

Sold out last year in 4 1/2 hours.

Check with them they have a number of tournaments ie Birdie for Brain Tumors.

Charity Golf Tournament at Oak Island June 17

There's a charity golf tournament at Oak Island Golf Resort (gorgeous championship course, named one of the ten best in Manitoba!) on June 17. Proceeds go to Virden Pet Network and Strays That Can't Pay, two local animal rescues. Details and registration form on our website: www.virdenpetnetwork.org

Sunnyside has the Red Nose and Westman Traditional Christmas Dinner tournaments. Check with them.

Has the Will Weir Memorial Golf Tournament on June 3. Always a good turn out and prizes. Proceeds this year go to the Virden Spray Park. We also have the Oilmens Golf tournament in July but that is usually sent out by invitation and is filled less than a week after invites are sent out. That is a crazy fun tournament!!

Shilo is hosting a Men's Open tournament with the winner receiving a trip for two to Las Vegas. All those who enter the tournament also get their name entered into a draw to win another trip for two to Vegas! Lots of other cash prizes to be won for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Still lots of room for more entries!

Shoal Lake tournaments

Here are some upcoming golf tournaments at Lakeside Golf Club in Shoal Lake:

July 23 - Yellowhead 150 four person scramble
July 29 - Horse Race 18 hole qualifying round plus tiered horse races
August 1 - Seniors tournament
