"Free events are difficult to impossible to come up with a real accurate number. Q went into a little more detail on the estimate at http://www.qcountryfm.ca/news-weather/news-sports-details/newsarticle/huge-attendance-for-festival-parks-grand-opening-event/
Via Riverbank GM's quote at that link it came from an estimate of 10,000 vehicles at different points over the course of the day and 3 people per vehicle. These things are obviously just approximations.. our car of 4 came, left, came back again.... but maybe in the grand scheme of things we're balanced out by a car of 1 that came in and stayed the whole time. No matter how you slice it, there were a lot of ppl at the amphitheater earlier in the day and a ton more again at night that my pic crop doesnt fully show! "I agree hard to approximate the attendance number to something that has people coming and going. I wonder the same thing about Ag Days how you always seem to know the attendance. It's quite frankly impossible without taking physical tickets.
We enjoyed the Canada Show. It definitely was a success and the organizers should be proud. However maybe next year lets leave a "number" out of it. There is no way anywhere near 30,000 people went. I don't care if they counted cars and pretended everyone had 3 people. You could times the cars by 10 and still never get anywhere close.
But again well done. Proud to be Canadian and to be from Brandon MB!
