Marking an item as sold

Okay, posting an ad is straightforward, or almost anyway. But how do you mark an ad as sold? Why is this so difficult? What do I do, just leave it until the time runs out? Why don't you have a BIG button on the front page that says "Mark an ad a sold"?

I've been having problems with site to

wanted email changed instead it changed my name and email
so went to straighten ou name but wont change it back to correct name says its been taken I even asked for help
and it says I joined this month but I joined years ago

Sign into your add with the user name and password that is emailed to you when you create the add.

There is a box you can click that says something to the effect of "MARK AS SOLD".

You also have the option to delete the add. Personally, I prefer this option because often people still call about sold items.

It is really straight forward honestly... and complaining about a way to sell your stuff free of charge? Really? Back in the day if you wanted to sell something you had to run an add in the Brandon Sun for $$ or wait until you accumulated enough junk to have a garage sale.

I appreciate that we have eBrandon. It makes buying and selling things very easy!

Easier way is just to delete ad, no sense in saying its sold.

If a technologically challenged individual like me can figure out how to post, edit and delete ads on ebrandon then anyone can do it. It’s so easy to use as long as you follow simple instructions. If you find it frustrating then maybe you should use a FREE classified service elsewhere.

Agreed.

Unless were talking about a car, house or something else people may be keeping their eye on, i'de just delete it. It's what I've done in the past.

Howdy!
Thanks for your interest in using the site. The classifieds play an important role as a central, open space for folks all around Westman to buy and sell and part of that role is making sure that as many new users as possible learn the ropes of posting and editing.
Have maintained a fairly consistent process for posting ads for around a decade or so and am always happy to help new folks out with that process.

There's a lot to eBrandon and so unfortunately only room for so many big buttons on the front page, but there is a fairly decent-sized "Edit ad" button on the front page in the classifieds area as well as an "Edit ad" button on the main classifieds page.

If you click on either of those buttons you'll be taken to a page where you can login to edit your ad by entering the ID and password associated with the ad. Once you're in, simply change the status to "sold" and you're good to go. Some folks do choose to delete an ad, though I always recommend marking as "sold" so that folks who have been browsing the ad previously can see that its status has changed.
If you happen to not have your ad's login info, there's a link right on that login form that says "forgot your login info? Click here to obtain it" that can help you out.

For those who posted their ads through a registered eBrandon account, there is a shortcut that you can use to avoid having to login to individual ads. Once you're logged into your account, go to your user menu through the direct top of the page and click on the "Posted Ads" link. From there you'll see a link of ads you've posted while logged into your account. Click on any given ad and you'll be taken to the same screen that allows you to change your ad status.
