Train crossing

Captain Obvious here, don’t try to beat the train at crossing if lights and bells are going and whistle is blowing. Not only will you lose , if I don’t run into you the Cn cop will. Every day someone is getting nailed and now fines are 150-750. He has handed out 45 fines in 6 weeks, and that’s only when he is not off on another mission. 220-900$ for trespassing which is worse when climbing over rail cars. The train may not be moving when you first climb up but can be before you know it, unless you have spent countless years entraining, detraining and recognizing the faint little sounds of air releases or the slack slowly klick klackiing towards you. This doesn’t happen as much anymore but several times a day I just miss hitting someone, sometimes at only 5-10 mph. Also like any profession if you give the engineer the finger he is less likely to clear very fast. So if the lights and bells come on in front of you and you don’t have time to stop that’s ok, he doesn’t fine people for that, so stop and if train isn’t moving or you have time you can go, this happens frequently because I have no control over the electric bond and I get the opposite where I clear , lights are still going but no one will move. Stop-then go. Share with friends! The law is 5 minutes and I realize some big trains coming or going to Winnipeg are 20-30 minutes. You actually have to report to transport Canada with locomotive number time date.
