Town of Souris

This is just my opinion, and maybe isn't valid since I don't live in town, but have spent my complete life living relatively close to it.
The town of Souris is basically a bedroom community with a whole lot of benifits. With it being so close to Brandon there have been a lot of changes over the years, but there are things that have kept it a great community, we have a school that would compare to any school in the city, we have doctors, dentist, chiropractor, and others in the medical fields. We have a hospital and the majority of the time have emergency service on a 24 hour basis. We have a grocery store that is open 7 days a week, with hours that should fit anyone's schedule, we have businesses to repair your auto, and also business to sell you parts if your a do it yourself person. We have a co-op lumber yard as well as a home hardware store. We have local plumbers, carpenters, and electricians.
I could go on and on about what we have, but I know I would forget many things that we do have and just take for granted.
There are things that we don't have, we don't have places where you can go out to eat 24 hours a day, we don't have a movies showing every day, we don't have a swimming facility where one can swim in the winter, so sports recreation is a seasonal thing.
I think if you are looking for a place that has peace and quiet, and a very, very low crime rate, Souris sort of fits that description. With it being a bedroom community the town shuts down pretty early, which is a real plus for those who do have to get up and drive to their jobs in Brandon. We have great access to Brandon with two major routes which can take you to the north or south side of the city in about equal time, and the commute to Brandon is shorter than many people in large urban centres do every day.
Ok, I've said enough, but as you see I think it is a great little town, and it is still close enough to Brandon that if you really need Timbits at some strange hour, and are willing to pay for the gas to get there, it's doable.
