    What is it that determines that any given discussion on here is a "hot discussion topic"? It often seems that the "hot topic" is actually one that is being discussed very little.

    I think it's based on hits/clicks, not necessarily replies. i.e. the amount of traffic.

    It’s formula based and mainly relies on number of views... so sometimes is possible that it’s a post that has a lot of views but not necessarily replies!
