Are there any Doctors in Brandon that do intra muscular injections for pain?

There are very few pain medications that are given any more IM. Most are given oral, IV, or subcut. So based on that I would say no. I'm not sure what medication you are looking for that is given IM other that steroids but maybe that is what you mean? Make an apt with your Dr and ask

I received injections when I lived on Winnipeg that helped for pain as there are too many side effects with medications

Injections of what, exactly?

All medications wear off after so many hours of being given. So you would have to return to have IM injections several times a day. They are not one time only, and very few pain medications are given IM. Unless you are meaning a steroid injection.

to get into Dr. Wong's pain clinic. You could die before getting in for treatment, yup!

Yes, it’s a long wait I’ve heard. He’s the only doctor there. I’ve been told they’re looking for more. Hopefully that happens soon!  
 
I was going to Winnipeg for treatments but was able to get into him fairly quickly when they first opened up here. It would be worth it to get on the list while looking elsewhere though. For myself, I was only going to Wpg 3-4x a year for my injections but it’s nice to be able to get them done here now.

Most GP's can and will give you a cortisone injection for an acute bursitis or even tendonitis. These injections do not wear off in a few hours as "Bluebell" has said, the anti-inflammatory effects will last for months, but you will still have to follow up with physio-therapy to learn the exercises, stretches, etc, to keep it from re-occurring. However, if your pain is not yet diagnosed, that is your first step. If, by chance, it is for fibromyalgia pain, then an anti-inflammatory will not help the pain, unless of course you have co-occurring inflammation. So, while some of us on ebrandon can help direct you if you have a specific medical question/condition, an initial vague question garners a lot of useless responses.

I receive cortisone injections for arthritis pain, in my lower back. Bi-lateral SI injections I think they’re called?

As stated above, you should talk to your primary care provider. There is a lot of info on this thread that may or may not be relevant. Intramuscular injections and intra-articular injections are two different things. Cortisone is a steroid that can be injected, it has side effects like any other medication. Cortisol is not an injectable medication. The Pain Clinics in both Brandon and Winnipeg require referral from your GP or NP. They both have incredibly long wait lists. Dr Stranges in Winnipeg also requires a referral.

The pain clinic in Brandon and Wpg are both 18-24 month wait.  
I would go to or call Brandon Clinic as there are doctors who do them there.
