I am interesting in walking in the mall...as I have bad arthritis help me by walking...but dont really like to walk alone...I heard there are groups that go...any info would be greatly appreciated...thank you..

I used to work in the mall. The doors to the mall open long before any stores do and lots of people do laps around the mall during the early hours before stores actually open and carry on until the mall starts to get busy.  
 
Other than that I don’t have any further info for you. Hopefully someone else can help.

I have done the mall walking in the past, but not for a couple of years. At that time I would sometimes see a group or two of 3 or 4 women but most often saw couples or singles walking. Inquire at the mall customer service desk as they used to have a form that had to be completed by mall walkers and they also had a map of the mall showing the distances you could walk depending on which hallways, etc you covered in your walk. Keep in mind that you will be walking on cement and though mall walking is an inexpensive (free) option, if/when I start walking regularly again (I also have arthritis that has affected my mobility) I will be looking at the cost of using the walking track at BU’s Healthy Living Centre as I believe it will be much easier on my body.

Walking on cement? The university has a rubber track. Better for you body.

Is the Keystone Center open to walkers in the winter? The mall walking hours are too early for me but would love somewhere free and warm to walk in the winter.

Have walked in the Keystone Centre but not for several years. Best to call the Keystone office to inquire as it used to depend on events happening in the complex and not all areas were open for walking. The staff will be able to provide information and direct you to the appropriate areas if walking is still permitted.

The keystone centre is a great idea and if a person get into the main arena that would be a bonus. You would have stairs to use as cardio as well.
