I know he does surgery In Brandon does anyone know what his contact number is in Brandon ?

I've never heard of him doing surgery in Brandon. He used to do surgery in Neepawa I think (maybe still does), but he's mostly based out of Portage and Winnipeg.

His only contact number is his office in Portage.

The only way you see him is with a referral unless you've seen him within the last 12 months. When you call the office 98% of the time you get a machine and his assistant calls u back

I forgot to add. The last time i spoke to him he was only doing surgery in bdn or portage.

Does the most emergent childrens' surgeries in Brandon, and I believe his Neepawa presence will be coming to an end too soon. Last I heard he was trying to move to a Portage only deal with his practice. (I was told this by a med student he was training when we got on the topic of the bad roads around the area in the winter)  
 
There is no Brandon contact for him and as someone else mentioned - you can never seem to get his receptionist to answer her phone in Portage as it is.  
 
Even as a former surgery patient it is nearly impossible to get follow up with him. I ended up with worse breathing issues after he did my surgery and it's like you get dropped once you've had your first follow up.

I had complications during surgery... on at least 3 occasions i called the office to get a meeting and between the assistant and my being flexible got me in on a wait and see basis. I was gratefull and he accomodated me. Found him to be informative and accomodating....i must be his fav patient lol

Last I saw him he does surgery in Winnipeg, Portage, and occasionally Brandon. In order to see him you need a referral. His only number is his clinic in Portage. Other numbers associated with him at hospitals are the surgery schedulers. They will not return your calls unless you are already scheduled.  
 
With that said I told him I wanted to go to whatever hospital had the shortest waiting list. It ended up being Portage, where I was told a 6 month wait. After waiting 7-8 months my file was changed to emergency. Ended up waiting 2 years (so I don't know if my file changed to emergency necessarily bumped me up at all). I had my tonsillectomy done at the end of January this year. His new hired helper did it, not Dr. Thess himself.

There are actually two ENT specialists at the Portage clinic, so the 'new hired helper' is probably Dr Gousseau. They triage the referrals now, and assign to one or the other.

He has worked out of Neepawa also.  
As far a I know, you have to be referred by family Dr.
