Norovirus outbreak??
4/8/2018 at 12:18 PM
Not to be confused with food poisoning.... everyone in my house has this presently, six of us in total. I am just wondering how bad it actually is around Brandon as it is contagiuous.
"The highly contagious norovirus can tear through cruise ships, classrooms, and other crowded spaces, leaving vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps in its wake.
It spreads easily through food and drink and can have a big impact on people's health. The CDC estimates that noroviruses are responsible for more than half of all food-borne disease outbreaks each year.
1. Nausea & Vomiting
The nausea and vomiting associated with Norovirus strikes very suddenly, typically within 12-hours of contamination, and dehydration is common when you’re vomiting for a period of 1 to 3 days. Luckily, once the 3 days are up, patients are usually past the contagious stage.
2. Fever & Chills
A rather high fever, which can reach temperatures of over 38-degress Celsius and 100.4-degrees Fahrenheit, will often accompany Norovirus. You will experience waves of night sweats followed by cold chills.
