Waking up with allergies - is it the smoke?

Hey everybody, I've ween waking up stuffy and sneezing a couple hours in the mornings lately. In trying to troubleshoot if its something in my home or life, or if its the smoke that's been floating around lately.

Has anybody else noticed a change lately?

First the first day some smoke moved in a couple weeks ago I was a mess for half a day... sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose. Since then whenever we’ve had some I’ve been fine, though we’ve stopped sleeping with the window open for now. Don’t know if it was composition of that particular smoke, or my body adjusted? Either way it doesn’t look like we’ve seen the last of it this summer... can’t imagine what folks are going through closer to the front lines out West.

We were actually supposed to be out West right now but pulled the pin on that and went to Minneapolis for a few days in stead. Was some haze there too but nothing like the pics coming out of BC!

a change with myself when it is humid I get stuffy when not humid I'm fine .

Yes it's been worse with all this smoke for me for sure. I found in the last few months after YEARS of using one brand of laundry detergent (on my sheets and pillowcases) that I needed to switch to the hypoallergenic non-scented stuff. My eyes were watery and I sneezed and itched every morning. If your allergies don't get better when the smoke clears, consider trying that too.

It's been terrible the past week or so. I can't imagine how much worse I'd be if we lived closer to the source. Especially when it's hot/humid, even indoors with the a/c on I'm hacking like crazy.

Thank you for the responses everyone, puts me at ease that there probably isn't an issue within my home. I do suffer from hayfever type allergies seasonally so betting on the smoke now. Allergy pills to the rescue.

Does it seem thicker haze today/tonight? The smell is much stronger this evening it seems. Even the street lights appear hazy.

Yes. The smoke is thick in the country.
