Health Care Run By and For Health Insurance Companies

It isn't that the health insurers in the US are willing to pay the exorbitant fees that hospitals charge. The insurance companies have the power to negotiate massive discounts from the set fees. So what would cost you or me $28,000, since we have no leverage to negotiate a better rate, will cost a health insurance provider $2,800 or less. The system is set up for the benefit of the companies that provide health insurance. They are the ones that are writing the rules.
