Why surgery?

I’ve been doing stretches for my wrists for over 25 years and it has kept my carpal tunnel in check, and it was quite bad for many months. Stretching will take a while to work though.
Put your bad arm in front of you, palm down, now lift your fingers up so your palm is facing away from you. With your other hand, pull your fingers back (don’t bend your fingers if you’re double jointed), and keep your bad arm straight. Hold for at least 30 seconds. You can stretch the other way too.
Also, the muscle in your forearm could be sore or strained too. Massage it yourself.
Yes, these tips can be a bit painful, but so is your CTS. These tips do help. Good luck
